LinkedIn (Connection Request)

Best for: Cold outreach to people you're not yet connected with.

This is the most common LinkedIn campaign type. It sends a personalized connection request first, then follows up with direct messages once the recipient accepts.

How it works

  1. You select recipients from your search results

  2. Hyperscale sends a personalized connection request with an optional note

  3. Once the recipient accepts, follow-up messages are sent as direct messages

  4. If the recipient is already in your network, the follow-up message is sent immediately

Settings

  • Sending limit: Up to 20 connection requests per day

  • Follow-ups: Sent as LinkedIn DMs after the connection is accepted

  • Send without note: Option to send a blank connection request (higher acceptance rate in some cases)

LinkedIn Sales Navigator (Connection Request)

Best for: Cold outreach using Sales Navigator's advanced targeting.

Same workflow as the regular LinkedIn campaign, but operates through Sales Navigator. Requires a LinkedIn Sales Navigator license.

How it works

  1. You select recipients from your search results

  2. Hyperscale sends a personalized connection request via Sales Navigator

  3. Once the recipient accepts, follow-up messages are sent as direct messages

  4. If the recipient is already in your network, the follow-up message is sent immediately

Settings

  • Sending limit: Up to 20 connection requests per day

  • Follow-ups: Sent as Sales Navigator DMs after the connection is accepted

Requirements

  • Active LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscription

  • Sales Navigator cookie connected in Connect LinkedIn

LinkedIn DM Connections

Best for: Messaging people you're already connected with on LinkedIn.

This campaign skips the connection request step entirely and sends direct messages right away. Use this when you want to reach out to your existing LinkedIn network β€” for example, re-engaging past contacts or nurturing warm leads.

How it works

  1. You select recipients from your search results

  2. Hyperscale sends a personalized direct message immediately

  3. If a recipient is not connected with you, the message will fail and be marked as "not connected"

  4. Follow-up messages are also sent as direct messages

Settings

  • Sending limit: Up to 20 messages per day

  • Follow-ups: Sent as LinkedIn DMs to the same recipients

When to use this

  • You've already connected with your target audience

  • You want to skip the connection request step for faster outreach

  • You're re-engaging existing connections with a new offer or update

LinkedIn Sales Navigator DM / InMail

Best for: Messaging via Sales Navigator, with InMail as a fallback for non-connections.

This campaign sends direct messages through Sales Navigator. If you have InMail credits and a recipient is not in your network, the message is sent as an InMail instead of a regular DM.

How it works

  1. You select recipients from your search results

  2. Hyperscale sends a personalized message via Sales Navigator

  3. For 1st degree connections, the message is sent as a regular DM

  4. For non-connections, the message is sent as an InMail (uses your InMail credits)

  5. Follow-up messages follow the same pattern

Settings

  • Sending limit: Up to 20 messages per day

  • Follow-ups: Sent via Sales Navigator DM/InMail

Requirements

  • Active LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscription

  • InMail credits available for messaging non-connections

Choosing the Right Campaign Type

Start with Connection Requests if:

  • You're doing cold outreach to new prospects

  • You want to build your LinkedIn network while selling

  • You don't have InMail credits

Start with DM Connections if:

  • Your targets are already in your LinkedIn network

  • You want to skip the connection request step

  • You're running a re-engagement campaign

Use Sales Navigator DM / InMail if:

  • You have a Sales Navigator license with InMail credits

  • You want to message anyone regardless of connection status

  • You're targeting high-value prospects who may not accept connection requests

Follow-Up Sequences

All LinkedIn campaign types support automated follow-up sequences:

  • Set a delay (in days) between each follow-up

  • Add multiple follow-up messages with different content

  • Follow-ups are only sent if the recipient hasn't replied

  • Follow-ups are always sent as LinkedIn DMs; for connection-request campaigns, follow-ups start after the connection request is accepted.
