# Multiple LinkedIn Accounts

Your primary LinkedIn account is the one you [connect with the Chrome extension or cookie](/connect-accounts/connect-linkedin.md). If you use the Chrome extension, its session is refreshed for you automatically; if you connected it by pasting a cookie manually, you keep it up to date yourself. You can also connect **additional (secondary) LinkedIn accounts** — for example an agency profile, a teammate's profile, or a second brand — and pick which account runs each campaign or search.

Additional accounts are managed from the [LinkedIn connection page](https://app.gethyperscale.com/account/linkedin), under **Additional LinkedIn Accounts**.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can connect up to **5 LinkedIn accounts** in total (your primary plus up to four additional accounts).
{% endhint %}

## How additional accounts differ from your primary

The Chrome extension only keeps your **primary** account's session cookie fresh. Additional accounts are connected by pasting their session cookie manually, so:

* There's no automatic refresh for them — when a secondary account's LinkedIn session expires, click **Reconnect** on that account and paste a fresh cookie.
* The dashboard banner will warn you when an additional account needs reconnecting.
* Hyperscale never silently sends from a different profile. If an account isn't valid, campaigns assigned to it wait rather than sending from someone else, and searches assigned to it fail and refund their credits so you can re-run them once the account is working.

## Connecting an additional account

You'll need the `li_at` session cookie for the account you want to add. Because you're likely already logged into your primary account in your main browser, the easiest approach is to log into the second account in a **separate browser or Chrome profile**.

1. Go to the [LinkedIn connection page](https://app.gethyperscale.com/account/linkedin) and scroll to **Additional LinkedIn Accounts**.
2. Click **+ Add LinkedIn Account**.
3. Log into the LinkedIn account you want to add (in another browser or Chrome profile), then copy its `li_at` session cookie. The steps for finding the cookie are the same as for your primary account — see [Connect LinkedIn](/connect-accounts/connect-linkedin.md#how-to-find-your-cookie).
4. Give the account a name under **Account Name** (e.g. "Agency" or "Jane's profile") so you can tell your accounts apart later.
5. Paste the cookie into **LinkedIn Session Cookie (li\_at)**.
6. Click **Add Account**.

Hyperscale records your browser's user agent along with the cookie automatically, so you don't need to enter it separately.

{% hint style="info" %}
Each additional account needs its own name, and names must be unique across your accounts. That name is what appears in the account selector on campaigns and searches, and on your campaign cards.
{% endhint %}

## Testing an account's connection

After adding an account — or any time you suspect its session has expired — you can verify the cookie is working.

* Find the account under **Additional LinkedIn Accounts** and click **Test Connection**.
* The test runs a quick check against LinkedIn and can take a couple of minutes.
* A passing test shows a green **✓** with **Connected as *****\[profile name]*** (or **Cookie is working**).
* A failing test shows a red **✗** with the reason — usually that the cookie is invalid or expired and needs reconnecting.

Each account shows a status dot and label at a glance:

* 🟢 **Connected** — the cookie is valid and the account can send.
* 🔴 **Invalid** / **Expired** — the session is no longer usable; reconnect the account (see below).
* ⚪ **Unknown** — the account hasn't been checked yet; run a connection test.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Only one connection test runs at a time. Wait for a test to finish before starting another.
{% endhint %}

## Reconnecting an account

When an account's session expires, refresh it in place rather than removing it:

1. Log into that LinkedIn account and copy its fresh `li_at` session cookie.
2. Click **Reconnect** on the account under **Additional LinkedIn Accounts**.
3. Paste the new cookie and click **Reconnect**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Reconnecting updates the existing account, so **any campaigns and searches that send from it keep working**. Don't remove and re-add an account just to refresh its cookie — that creates a new account, and campaigns bound to the old one are paused and have to be reassigned.
{% endhint %}

## Removing an additional account

Removing an account deletes its stored session cookie from Hyperscale.

1. Find the account under **Additional LinkedIn Accounts** and click the 🗑️ (trash) icon.
2. Review the confirmation dialog. If any campaigns currently send from this account, they're listed here.
3. Click **Remove** to confirm.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Any campaign that sends from the removed account is automatically paused.** This is deliberate — Hyperscale won't quietly move those campaigns onto a different LinkedIn profile. To resume a paused campaign, edit it, choose another connected account under **LinkedIn Account**, and reactivate it.
{% endhint %}

## Choosing which account runs a campaign or search

Once you have more than one account connected, you choose the sender wherever LinkedIn outreach starts.

### On a campaign

When you create or edit a LinkedIn campaign, use the **LinkedIn Account** selector to pick **Send from which LinkedIn account**. In the list:

* Your primary account is marked **(primary)** and is used by default.
* An account that needs attention is marked **— needs reconnect**.

A campaign must send from a valid account before it can be activated. If the selected account needs reconnecting, or you haven't picked one, activation is blocked with a prompt to fix it first. On your campaign list, each LinkedIn campaign shows **💼 Sends as: *****\[account name]*** so you can confirm at a glance which profile it uses.

### On a search

LinkedIn URL and Sales Navigator searches have the same **LinkedIn Account** selector — **Search with which LinkedIn account**. It defaults to your primary account. Choose the account you want the search to run under before starting it.

{% hint style="info" %}
If a search is started against an account that can't send (expired or removed), the search fails and any credits it reserved are refunded — reconnect the account and run the search again.
{% endhint %}
